An online course for parents
Enlarged tonsils and adenoids? There's more you can do while you wait, decide or prepare.
A self-paced online course for parents who want to understand what's driving their child's enlarged tonsils and adenoids, and what they can do about it alongside medical care, whatever path they take with surgery.
Created from a multidisciplinary perspective by Tash Duffin, occupational therapist and orofacial myofunctional therapist experienced in paediatric sleep and sleep quality, and Jess Donovan, naturopath.

Waiting on an ENT referral?
Instead of waiting and feeling powerless, you'll have a clear plan you can start this week.
Deciding about surgery?
Understand what may be driving your child's symptoms, so you can make an informed decision together with your ENT.
Surgery already booked?
Prepare your child, support their recovery, and understand why some issues can linger after surgery.
Already had surgery and still seeing symptoms? We cover that too, including why tissue can sometimes regrow.
Does this sound familiar?
You've noticed your child:
- snores, or you can hear them breathing from the hallway
- sleeps with their mouth open, or breathes through their mouth during the day
- tosses and turns, sweats at night or sleeps in unusual positions
- wakes tired, moody or hard to settle
- seems to catch every bug going, or always has a blocked nose
- is a fussy eater, or you've had questions about their speech or hearing
These signs can all be connected to tonsils and adenoids, which grow fastest between around two and seven years of age and sit right in your child's airway.
What you'll learn
Six modules of short videos you can watch in the gaps of real family life. Once you have access, you'll start with module 1 and complete a short quiz to help you identify your child's drivers and the best place to start in the course, so you're not wading through advice that doesn't fit.
Module 1
What's driving it
Why tonsils and adenoids enlarge, their role in your child's immune system, and how it can show up in sleep, behaviour, breathing, speech, hearing and eating.
Module 2
Infections and soothing
Understanding the infection cycle, gentle ways to soothe flare-ups at home, and when an infection needs the GP.
Module 3
Allergies, intolerances and triggers
Common triggers in the home and practical changes, plus how to approach food reactions without over-restricting.
Module 4
Gut, reflux and the microbiome
The connection between the gut, reflux (including silent reflux) and the throat, nose and mouth.
Module 5
Oral function and breathing
Why mouth breathing matters for sleep and how your child's face and jaw develop, the signs to look for, and what can help, including how myofunctional therapy fits in. You'll also learn when therapy alone isn't enough.
Module 6
Surgery and your next steps
Red flags, working with your GP and ENT, questions to ask, preparing for surgery and recovery, and why some problems can persist afterwards.
